Testing SMPTE 2110, ST 2022-7 &
2022-6 IP Networks
With both the established SMPTE ST 2022-6, SMPTE 2022-7 and the SMPTE 2110 suite of standards, an entirely new level of test and measurement tools is required. ST 2110 based IP systems employ Precision Time Protocol (PTP) with multiple audio, video and ancillary data flows delivering highly complex interactions between edge devices and switches that you simply do not get with SDI systems.
At this stage the testing of ST 2110 flows with ST 2022-7 protection and PTP is challenging. The big issues are currently around protocol behavior, network jitter, and PTP on these complex networks.
Configuring a large IP facility can be challenging, with tens of thousands of IP addresses to be allocated and managed.
The Leader Group is actively developing both handheld as well as rackmount IP enabled Test and Measurement equipment that supports both ST 2022-6, ST 2022-7 as well as ST 2110 video, audio and ANC IP flows.

The LV5600W is a ‘True-Hybrid’ Waveform Monitor compatible with 4K/HD/SD-SDI signals and UHDTV/HD/SD IP signals. LT4670

The LT4670 is a 1U full rack size synchronous signal generator that outputs PTP, GNSS, (4K/HD) IP, 4K 12G, (3G/HD/SD) SDI, analog synchronous signals, AES/EBU, audio word clock and LTC synchronized to analog video sync signals.

Six independent analog sync signal outputs, digital audio output, word clock output, LTC input/output, and L-SYNC are provided as standard, with options for GNSS sync, PTP, 4K IP, HD IP, 4K 12G-SDI, 4K Quad, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI output in any pattern. The system is designed for optimal synchronization system management according to various systems.

Inheriting all of the class leading features and flexibility of the QxL Rasterizer the QxP features an integral 3U multitouch LCD screen and an integral V-Mount or G-Mount battery plate, integral mains PSU and 12v external DC input. You now have 12G SDI and 25G ST 2110 compliance monitoring in a portable form factor using industry standard Camera Batteries.
With its class-leading Waveforms, the QxP is equally at home on-set in SDR or HDR Productions, Grading, Shading, or QC, MCR, Engineering and R&D environments. The user is free to use the integral screen, or plug in an external HDMI monitor and use the flexible tool layout to view up to 16 instruments simultaneously. A rich set of remote access options including NoVNC and the UI as a 2110-20 flow provides all of the ‘headless’ operational flexibility of a conventional Rasterizer.

The QxL inherits all the JT-NM Tested features of the Qx with a common look and feel across both platforms. For realtime UHD IP workflows on 25G networks with video payloads up to 21Gbps, the class leading QxL provides support for 2110 and 2022-6 on generic 10G/25G SFP28 interfaces. The QxL is fully 10G/25G IP enabled as standard, with support for generation and analysis of a JT-NM TR 1001- 1:2018, ST 2110-20 (video), up to four 2110-30 (PCM) and 2110-31 (AES transport) audio and a 2110-40 ANC media flow, all with 2022-7 Seamless IP Protection Switching (SIPS) and AMWA NMOS IS-04 discovery and IS-05 device connection management.

The Qx brings together all the advanced Test & Measurement tools required for transitioning to the next generation of video formats. Designed for HD/3G/6G/12-SDI and IP ST 2110/2022-7/2022-6 environments, the instrument set includes tools for rapid fault diagnosis, compliance monitoring and product development.
The Qx rasterizer offers SDI as standard. Core media analysis tools for broadcast operator HD-SDI environments include picture view, waveform analyzer, vectorscope, 32 channel audio metering and ANC status. The optional IP toolset supports payloads on native 10G SFP+ interfaces using generic IP SFPs, giving full access to be able to monitor and measure the IP traffic to SMPTE standards.

Sx TAG with its SFP, SDI and analog I/O offers incredible versatility in a handheld device. It is ideal for IP, 3G/HD/SD-SDI, optical SDI, HDMI and Analog test & measurement as well as AES eye analysis, for applications demanding true mobility and ease of use.
It provides support for SMPTE ST 2110-20/30/31/40 encapsulation/decapsulation with ST 2059 PTP, SDP and NMOS as well as SMPTE ST 2022-6 encapsulation/ decapsulation, using 10GE IP SFP+ modules developed by Embrionix.
Useful hybrid IP/SDI features include SDI to IP and IP to SDI gateways for both ST 2110-20/30/31/40 and ST 2022-6 as well as the ability to generate an analog reference ouput slaved to the ST 2059 PTP or 2022-6 IP input.
