12G-SDI Handheld Generation, Analysis and Monitoring
The Sx2 Series brings 12G-SDI test and measurement into a handheld instrument. Signal generation, analysis and monitoring sit in one unit built for the field, the machine room and the OB truck.
Two models make up the series. The Sx2 covers 12G, 6G, 3G, 1.5G and 270M-SDI generation and analysis across 4K, UHD, HD and SD. The Sx2E adds SDI physical layer analysis with RTE™ Real-Time Eye technology, jitter measurement and a 12G loop out.
Full 4K UHD analysis runs over a single coaxial interface, so setup stays simple and signal integrity stays intact. A 1920 x 1200 touchscreen, precision rotary control and saveable presets put every toolset within reach.
The Sx2 Series is built on the engineering heritage of both Leader and PHABRIX. The renowned handheld design elements from PHABRIX products meet Leader’s record for precision, accuracy and reliability.
Sx2 KEY FEATURES
SUPPORT FOR HIGH-PERFORMANCE 12G-SDI WORKFLOWS
The Sx2 delivers the bandwidth required for high-resolution media workflows. Full 4K UHD signal analysis runs over a single coaxial interface, so you cut cabling and setup time without losing accuracy. Support spans 12G, 6G, 3G, 1.5G and SD-SDI, covering 4K, UHD, HD and SD.
12G-SDI PHYSICAL LAYER VALIDATION WITH RTE™
The Sx2E covers SDI physical layer line checking, commissioning and testing. RTE™ Real-Time Eye technology highlights SMPTE compliance issues as they happen. The realtime jitter window monitors five frequency bands at once, with jitter histogram and video trigger options across 12G, 3G, HD and SD-SDI.
HANDHELD HDR MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS
The optional SX2-HDR toolset adds HDR measurement to a handheld form factor. BT.709, BT.2020, BT.2100 HLG, PQ, Sony S-Log3 and SR Live are all supported. A Cd/m² nits graticule, BT.2408 diffuse white markers and a seven-band programmable heatmap give you the precision to evaluate luminance, color gamut and transfer characteristics.
AN INTERFACE BUILT FOR SPEED
The Sx2 pairs the familiar operation of the Sx Series with a 1920 x 1200 touchscreen. Work by touch or by precision rotary control. Build up to eight quad split templates showing three or four instruments each, then save complete configurations as presets for instant recall.
POWER AND BATTERY PERFORMANCE
A high-capacity lithium-ion battery keeps the Sx2 running through long shifts. The user-swappable design lets you change a depleted battery in seconds, so testing continues. USB-C charging removes the need for a proprietary supply, and spare batteries and an external charger are available as accessories.
MULTI-CHANNEL AUDIO ANALYSIS
Meter 16 channels at a time from selectable SDI audio groups, drawn from up to 128 embedded channels depending on SDI format. Two AES and two analog input channels are also metered. Dolby® E, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus™ and Dolby ED2 detection is included as standard.
